We are currently hiring for Full or Part Time Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to work in our group homes in the Glendale area.

DSP Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct care service and support to individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting and ensuring a safe environment for members.

  • Modeling appropriate social behavior and positive use of free time with recreational activity, in the home and community.

  • Assisting members with personal hygiene, meal time assistance, dental care, medical monitoring, and household chores. Such as;

    • Help members take prescribed medication

    • Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the members (when they are able)

    • Perform light housekeeping duties that members can’t complete on their own

  • Proficiency in de-escalation with the ability to assess when to promote positive behaviors or redirect a member.

  • Transporting members to and from the home, appointments, day programs, school, outings, etc.

  • Reporting any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

  • Previous experience within the group home setting, HCBS programs, or DDD highly preferred.

  • This position requires the ability to work autonomously and with little to no direct supervision.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a level 1 fingerprint clearance background check.

  • Article 9 (Preferred)

  • CPR/First Aid (Preferred)

  • Prevention & Support (Preferred)

  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR)

  • Knowledge of housekeeping, cooking with attention to dietary constraints, and willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.

  • Respectful and compassionate

  • Time management skills

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • Physical endurance (Must be able to lift 50lbs)

  • Must have a valid AZ driver’s license with at least one year of driving history or sign a Non-Driver Waiver.

  • If hired as driving staff: A current 39-month motor vehicle report will be obtained to ensure that your driving history meets our insurance eligibility requirements.
